Captains at the toss!
Shreyas Iyer: We are going to bowl first. The wicket is dry and with a bit of dew, the wicket should be better to bat. Same team for us.
Rohit Sharma: Looks like a good pitch. We know we are going to bat first now, so just post a good total. We know we have a good bowling line-up to defend any total. Just got to start well and then take it from there. Three changes, Bumrah, Boult and Hardik are back for Pattinson, Dhawal and Tiwary.
Team News – Three changes for Mumbai Indians as Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult and Hardik Pandya come back in the playing XI in place of James Pattinson, Dhawal Kulkarni and Saurabh Tiwary. Delhi Capitals remain unchanged.
Toss News, Qualifier 1: Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer wins toss, opts to field against Mumbai Indians in Dubai.
Pitch report: “Looks fantastic (the surface). Got a little bit of grass on it which should offer a little bit of pace and bounce. It actually aids the batting side as well and later in the night when dew starts to form then it will aid the batting side as well. 20 of the last 26 games have been won by the team batting second. Sides batting first are tentative and that’s the biggest issue. 160 is the average score here and anything over 180-185 you are in the game,” reckon Simon Doull and Pommie Mbangwa.
Players from both the teams are out in the middle, warming up ahead of the crucial encounter. Just under 30 minutes to go for the toss.
The stage is all set for the playoffs as rampaging Mumbai Indians take on Delhi Capitals. A minor slip up in the last game for MI but they will be looking to bounce back today and secure the final spot. Delhi go into the match with a win behind their back after four consecutive losses.
