NCP workers protest across Maharashtra over agriculture minister’s remarks against Supriya Sule

NCP party workers demonstrated across Maharashtra Monday demanding the apology of Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar over his alleged remarks against Baramati NCP MP Supriya Sule. The NCP has given a 24-hour deadline to the minister to apologise and retract his statement. Sattar allegedly made the remarks while speaking to media persons in Aurangabad recently.

NCP workers also reportedly pelted stones in front of Sattar’s bungalow in Mumbai Monday.

Responding to Sattar’s comments, NCP spokesperson Clyde Crasto said: “This is an insult to all women and shows his cheap mindset. Abdul Sattar and his likes should stop testing our patience because we know how to protect the dignity of our women.”

The NCP also wrote a letter to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde asking him to remove Sattar from the Cabinet.

“CM Eknath Shinde and DCM Devendra Fadnavis, do you accept this patriarchal and misogynistic mindset? If not, you must throw this man Abdul Sattar out of the ministry. Otherwise, you, too, will be perceived as a party to this mindset,” Crasto said.
