Harmanpreet led India squad for Women’s T20 WC announced
NEW DELHI: The big-hitting Harmanpreet Kaur has been selected to lead the 15-member Indian squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The squad was revealed on Tuesday and the tournament will take place in the UAE from October 3.
Harmanpreet Kaur brings her extensive experience to the team, setting high hopes for their performance. The event was moved from Bangladesh to the UAE because of unrest in Bangladesh due to a students’ protest.
Yastika Bhatia, who bats in the top-order, and Shreyanka Patil, a spin all-rounder, have also been chosen.However, their participation depends on their fitness closer to the event. Star batter Smriti Mandhana has been appointed as Harmanpreet’s deputy. This adds more strength to the leadership on and off the field.

Team India is in Group A alongside Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
