Modi Russia LIVE: On Day 2, PM Modi To Co-Chair 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit With Putin
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday will hold wide-ranging talks at the 22nd India-Russia annual summit.
PM Modi is visiting Moscow for the first time since Russia launched its military campaign in Ukraine in February 2022. This visit aims to strengthen New Delhi’s long-standing relationship with Moscow. He last visit Russia in 2019.
Additionally, Modi is expected to have a one-on-one meeting with Putin, concluding the first leg of his two-day visit. He will then depart for Austria, where he plans to meet with the President and hold bilateral talks with the Chancellor, followed by a meeting with a business delegation.
Further, Russia has also agreed to discharge and facilitate the return of all Indians fighting for the Russian army in Ukraine, a major breakthrough achieved during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Moscow, sources said on Tuesday. The development came after PM Modi took up the matter with Putin during their private dinner on Monday, the sources added.
