Watch: Fan breaches security to hug Kohli and touch his feet

NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli‘s fan following is unmatched which makes him one of the most adored and celebrated cricketers globally. With his exceptional talent, fierce determination and charismatic personality, Kohli has amassed a massive and passionate fan base.
And it’s nothing new for Kohli to encounter such moments when fans go all the way to breach the security just to meet their favourite star on the ground.The star batter was also seen in the past to humbly accept their gestures.
The former India skipper Kohli experienced another instance during the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings in Bengaluru. Before the start of the RCB innings, a fan managed to breach security to touch Kohli’s feet and hug him.
Earlier, Kohli also surpassed Suresh Raina to become the Indian player with the most catches in the men’s T20 format. The 35-year-old took PBKS batter Jonny Bairstow catch to complete his 173 in the T20 format. He went on to take Shikhar Dhawan’s catch as well.
He went past former India cricketer Raina who has 172 catches to his name. India skipper Rohit Sharma is in the third spot with 167 catches in his kitty.
India batters Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav are in the fourth and fifth spots with 146 and 136 catches respectively.
Overall in international T20 cricket, former West Indies cricketer Kieron Pollard is at the summit with 362 catches to his name.
