NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians star Suryakumar Yadav was at his absolute best against Sunrisers Hyderabad as his whirlwind 51-ball 102 not out powered the hosts to a resounding seven-wicket win on Tuesday.
As the ‘SKY’ storm struck Wankhede, the swashbuckler produced a special effort on his way to a second IPL ton.
Smashing the Sunrisers’ bowlers to all corners of the park, Surya carnage came at a strike rate of 200 and had 12 fours and half a dozen sixes in it.
Amid a special effort from Surya, the social media went into an overdrive, lauding the 33-year-old middle-order batter.
The win against SRH was MI’s Mumbai fourth this season as they ditched the bottom spot on the points table.
Surya’s 102 set up Mumbai’s big win in 17.2 overs.
Earlier, SRH had made 173 for eight thanks to opener Travis Head’s 48 off 30 balls and Pat Cummins’ rearguard 35 not out off 17 balls.
Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla took three wickets each for Mumbai Indians.
